Mondays, February 27-April 2 • 3:30-4:30 $12 drop in / $66 for 6 class series
African drumming and dancing brings people together in joy! In this 6 class series, we will practice playing the djembe and djun djun drums of West Africa, as well as explore many other African instruments. Kids will strengthen their ability to hold a rhythm over time, as well as practice hand drumming techniques. We will also have fun and explore our creativity and imagination with rhythm and movement games. Kids will get to release their energy with dance, and learn the basic steps of traditional West African dances. If so desired, the group will work towards drumming and dancing together as an ensemble in a performance at the expression and the joy of music and movement. Classes are $12 drop in or $66 for the series. CLICK HERE to contact instructor, Tara Murphy, for more information and registration or call 508-349-1800.
