Tonight's selection: Martin Scorcese's electrifing concert film SHINE A LIGHT, captures the Rolling Stones live over a two-day period at the intimate Beacon Theater in New York City in fall 2006. It also includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. "Once the Rolling Stones push "Jumpin' Jack Flash's" tempo toward a cliff, Scorsese treats "Shine a Light" like a character piece about artistic give-and-take, not a mere concert film. As long as the Stones are ambulatory, they're ageless."  -Nick Rogers, Suite.101 "...an exhilarating and wholly engrossing event." - John J. Puccio, Movie Metropolis

Fleet Movement Explorations

Sunday, April 26th, 2015 3:00 pm
Drop in dance workshop, by donation
Fleet Movement Explorations is an experimental dance class in which we explore, among other things, developmental movement patterns while sensing ourselves in space, weight, time, and the three dimensions. This is extended to explore the articulation of movement initiations and refinement of body alignments. We play with evoking movement though qualities of feeling, shape, force, idea, word and more. From this basis, we work out interactive improvisational skits. The class is basically informal, challenging, and fun, and a good movement workout. It plays spontaneously with forces, shapes, images, and ideas rather than specific dance technique. At times we will have guest teachers. All are welcome. Lead by Becky Burrill—dancer-choreographer, developmental-creative arts educator, writer, visual artist.

$15
BUY TICKETS HERE Heartburn: Recipes for Transformation Presented by Wellfleet Preservation Hall & Lola's Local Food Lab The 3rd season of Food on Film celebrates and savors the passions of the kitchen, mirrored in the dreams and desires of strong-willed women in their search for authenticity in taste and in truth. Each has a different recipe for transforming their lives, as we discover what it means to nourish, to feast, and to be hungry. Orlando, 1992, directed by Sally Potter. Based on the novel by Virginia Wolff. Young nobleman Orlando (Tilda Swinton) is commanded to retain the “bloom of youth” by Queen Elizabeth I (Quentin Crisp). This epic search for love, poetry and the meaning of life spirals inward and outward, or over four hundred years and is a karmic reckoning of gender roles through a lens both historical and philosophical. While not a film about food, the act and art of dining and discussion are a delicious morsel in this dazzling, daring, feast for the senses. Small plate menu TBA!
