Zumba w/Alissa & Gillian

Gillian Mueller and Alissa Krieger-DeWitt share the stage as they guide you through a super fun, super effective Zumba dance class.  Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval style, calorie burning dance fitness party. Zumba fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. A total body workout, combining all elements of fitness - cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility and boosted energy. We welcome and encourage all ages and all abilities!!!

Fleet Movement Explorations

Fleet Movement Explorations is an experimental dance class in which we explore, among other things, developmental movement patterns while sensing ourselves in space, weight, time, and the three dimensions. This is extended to explore the articulation of movement initiations and refinement of body alignments. We play with evoking movement though qualities of feeling, shape, force, idea, word and more. From this basis, we work out interactive improvisational skits. The class is basically informal, challenging, and fun, and a good movement workout. It plays spontaneously with forces, shapes, images, and ideas rather than specific dance technique. At times we will have guest teachers. All are welcome. Lead by Becky Burrill—dancer-choreographer, developmental-creative arts educator, writer, visual artist.

REGISTER HERE Norman Mailer:  Yesterday’s Writer Today with Jeanne McNett at Wellfleet Preservation Hall   Tuesdays, June 2, 9, 16. 23, and 30, from 3-5 pm (tea time class, with light refreshments) *Sign up by June 1 Norman Mailer, writer and public intellectual, was a novelist, essayist, journalist, public intellectual, politician, and co-founder of the Village Voice. To imagine another American writer who has had such an immediate influence on our public conversation is difficult. Yet,  in 1971, when he attacked the women’s movement in a forum at the Town Hall in Manhattan, his potential ebbed dramatically. Many readers lost patience with his public performances. Forty-four years have passed since that Town Hall meeting, and close to eight years have passed since his death.  This course revisits selections of Mailer’s work and re-examines his participation in public life in order to reassess his contribution to American literature. A reading list will be circulated two weeks before the first session. Yoga w/Della Spring

Della's classes consist of stretching, breath work, inner awareness, self-compassion, held poses, readings, and final meditation. She has a hands-on approach and believes that you don't have to twist into a pretzel to receive the full benefits of a healthy yoga practice. She emphasizes the importance of correct alignment to avoid stress and injury. Her classes are suitable for all levels; Della believes that every body (even the least flexible) will enjoy the gifts of yoga. Students leave her classes feeling enlivened and renewed. Della Spring, RYT-500, began her exploration with yoga when she was nine years old. More recently she has shifted her practice from studying yoga to sharing yoga, through teaching. She is fascinated by the exploration of the inner world and its deep connection to our external self. Through her extensive travels and study throughout India, Bali, Thailand, Central and South America, and from Yoga Alliance foundational and advanced yoga teacher trainings, Della brings her own brand of support, connection and compassion to yoga. Her mission is to help others to intelligently know and heal their bodies and to source their own power through their yoga practice.
