Come dance! The Outermost Contra dance happens on the third Friday of each month, and in different locations on the Outer Cape. For the fall and winter of 2016/2017, Prez Hall is our home. There is a community potluck beforehand at 6:30, with the dance starting at 7:00. Guest musicians TBA. What is contra dance? Contra dancing is social interaction set to music, meeting people, and making new friends. A caller, working with a group of live musicians, guides new and experienced dancers alike through a variety of dances. No need to bring a partner, but bring friends and family! Our dance is supported by a small grant from the Country Dance and Song Society and by donations. The suggested donation is $10 or whatever you can afford to put towards supporting the dances.

Alissa Krieger-DeWitt will guide you through a super fun, super effective Zumba dance class. Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval style, calorie burning dance fitness party. Zumba fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. A total body workout, combining all elements of fitness - cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility and boosted energy. We welcome and encourage all ages and all abilities!

Fleet Movement Explorations is a structured improvisational dance class. We start with warm-ups based in internal body awareness such as developmental movement patterns or somatic exploration, often integrated with thematic material. Embodiment is evoked through sensing movement articulation, initiation, and alignment in space-weight-time, and the three dimensions. Warm-up experiences are used as creative material for structuring dance scores. Each dancer becomes an artistic director of their score, danced by the whole group. Weather permitting we hold class outside, working with the language immediacy of the Natural World. We play spontaneously with forces, shapes, feelings, images, and ideas rather than specific dance technique. The class is basically informal, challenging, and fun, and a good movement workout. At times we will have guest teachers. All are welcome. Lead by Becky Burrill, Ed.D.—dance-improvisationist, artistic director, developmental-creative arts educator, writer, visual artist, join weekly notifications concerning class thru Becky at 508 237 0217 • email@example.com
