TASTE OF WELLFLEET COOKBOOK
This book is a delicious expression of the Wellfleet Preservation Hall mission; celebrating arts, culture and community.
Food is the often the foundation that brings people together. Here at the Hall, food centered events have always been a staple in our programming with Food on Film, Oysterfete, our pre-Oysterfest feast and our signature fundraiser, Taste of the Town.
In early spring 2020 we realized we would not be able to produce Taste of the Town. This annual event brings over two hundred food and wine lovers together with the very best of our culinary community of beloved restaurants, celebrated chefs, farmers of land and sea. The disappointment of cancelling it was immediately transformed and creatively channeled into this book. Chefs, farmers, artists, musicians and dozens of home cooks stepped up with wonderful recipes and fascinating stories to tell about them. The recipe stories, steeped in family, love, history and sense of place are as rich and satisfying as the recipes themselves. Art, culture and community celebrated through the telling, making and sharing of food.
Artfully designed by graphic artist Susie Nielsen, with illustrations by Liam Luttrell-Rowland, you’ll find recipes from all your favorite restaurants, secret recipes enjoyed at dinner parties and family gatherings and the community favorites shared at potlucks and events. A book that will be well-used in your kitchen and beautiful on your coffee table.
Our friends at Edible Cape Cod wrote a wonderful story about the book and the journey…Take a look HERE.
